Formerly
known as the National Handbag Association, the NFAA was the principal trade
association for the Handbag and Fashion Accessories industry since the early
1900’s.
Now known as FASA/Gemini and headed by a team of experts, the association
disseminates pertinent
information to its manufacturer/importer/shipper members to promote and maintain
high standards of ethics, business practices and labor relations in the
international trade community, and to advance, promote and protect the best
interests of its membership FASA, Fashion Accessories Shippers' Association,
Inc. has a combined membership of more than one hundred handbag, belt, small
leather goods, glove, umbrella and luggage firms.
FASA was formed in 1986 by the
members of the National Fashion Accessories
Association, Inc. (NFAA).
FASA is a full-service non-profit trade association. FASA
serves the accessories industry through its sister association, Gemini Shippers
Association, by offering discounted rates on service contracts negotiated with
ocean carriers; providing up-to-date international trade information; advising
in legal and governmental affairs; and supplying valuable U.S. customs
information. One of FASA's most important value-added services is its role
as an information clearing house, surveying needs and supporting its members'
efforts to facilitate trade. In negotiating rates with ocean carriers,
Gemini/FASA has contracted with carriers that offer timely, professional service
supported by a state-of-the-art transportation network. By handling all
shipping contracts and reducing shipping rates, Gemini/FASA is able to offer
members in the fashion accessories business cost-effective logistics in today's
challenging market environment.
