FASA was formed in 1986 by the National Fashion Accessories Association, Inc. (NFAA). FASA is a full-service non-profit trade association. Formerly known as the National Handbag Association, the NFAA was the principal trade association for the Handbag and Fashion Accessories industry since the early 1900's. Now known as FASA and headed by a team of experts, the Association, continuing its trade association tradition, disseminates pertinent information to the fashion accessory industry including manufacturers, importers and shippers. The Association seeks to promote and maintain high standards of ethics, business practices and labor standards in the industry and throughout the international trade community, and to advance, promote and protect the best interests of the industry and those served by the Fashion Accessories Shippers' Association, including businesses in the handbag, belt, small leather goods, glove, umbrella and luggage accessory businesses.

FASA also serves the accessories industry by providing up-to-date international trade and shipping information; advising in legal and governmental affairs; and supplying valuable U.S. customs information.  One of FASA's most important value-added services is its role as an information clearing house, surveying needs and supporting the industries' efforts to facilitate trade and by offering the industry and associated businesses with access to cost-effective logistics information in today's challenging market environment.
